We welcome the official opening of the safe harbour as we lobbied long and hard for many years to have this magnificent resource.

Thanks to the permanent protection the harbour provides, a daily ferry service to and from Melbourne is a reality.

The harbour is the home base for commercial fisheries and the ferry.

As well, it has docking for short-term berths, emergency anchorage for all marine craft and tall ships.

View the map that shows berthing and anchorage allocations in the harbour.  To find out more, please go to Parks Victoria

The ferry berth doubles as docking for tenders bringing passengers ashore from cruise ships.   Cruise ships can't dock in Geelong as it's too shallow, so expect to see a cruise ship from time-to-time.
